Stunt Night 2010 Report - Friday 26th February at Santa Pod Raceway

Stunt Night 2010 has been and gone, a week later than scheduled but it was worth the wait.

The fun fair got going when the gates opened at 4pm and by 5pm UKFMX were putting in some practise jumps and the drifting display started off the evening entertainment for those eager to see some action and then it was all eyes on the track where Terry Grant entertained onlookers with his car control in his Mazda RX8 and then his VW Beetle, Herbie which he drove almost the full length of the Santa Pod strip on two wheels whilst it was full of passengers. It even had someone in the boot!

Next up was Ronnie Picardo giving the crowd a heart warming jet blast with his Blue Max Jet Beetle followed by Moto Stunt International who were performing for the first time ever at Santa Pod and they wowed the crowd with a huge variety of stunts including precision formation driving, wheelies, 2 wheels, jumps and more on and in a range of 2, 3 and 4 wheeled vehicles. Then another one of Terry Grant's vehicles was on track, unfortunately Terry had to leave early but he left his remote control behind for some more tire spinning action.

Next was a break from the action giving people a chance to grab some food and drink along with an autograph from some of the performers. During this period there was also kids party games in the bar to keep the little ones occupied and a fire display from Poi Circus.

It was up to the Live Action Arena for the climax of the evening where UKFMX put on a great show in difficult windy conditions with some jaw dropping stunts in mid air, before the beast itself was fired up; Podzilla roared into life for the first time in 2010 crushing everything in it’s path as it took to the air, jumping cars. The night ended with all eyes to the sky for the fireworks display.

Due to snow and freezing weather conditions, Stunt Night was postponed for safety reasons from Friday 19th February until Friday 26th February 2010. Advance ticket holders who could not attend the rescheduled date should hold on to their tickets as they are worth their full value towards any other Santa Pod event up to and including Stunt Night 2011.
